Talk show is not journalism, this is a theater in a real sense. Not in the sense that actors act on the stage, but the first place took here – emotions, entertainment, and not informing. The Chairman’s Ear is the best example of that type of the show.
At journalism we were taught the basics of journalistic ethics. But in the realities of Polish television, most of the rules of this “code of honor” are impracticable or feasible only partly, for various reasons, not only political, but also purely technical. While in the developed European countries people in the evenings are watching entertaining TV shows, the Polish media space is covered with political shows like mushrooms after the rain. Any self-respecting channel regularly hosts TV debates with the participation of representatives of different political forces and experts. And the people, judging by the ratings, like to contemplate the filth of mud, disputes and provocations at the highest level. It seems that the quality of such projects leaves much to be desired. Or not?
