Official representative of the musician Brian Bamber told the Associated Press that Cornell died “suddenly and unexpectedly” and the musician’s family is in deep shock.

The cause of the death of the founder and leader of the American group Soundgarden Chris Cornell, most likely, was suicide: to this conclusion came the forensic experts after the autopsy, reports the Associated Press.

The 52-year-old musician, who did not have any special health problems, was found dead on the bathroom floor in a Detroit hotel a few hours after the concert on the evening of May 17. His sudden death was a real shock to the family.
Later it became known that the singer was found with a noose around his neck, and local media wrote that the leader of the cult group committed suicide. At the Forensic Bureau of County of Wayne, Michigan, this version was confirmed, but noted that “the final autopsy report is not yet ready.”

In the US, Chris Cornell is known not only as frontman of the grunge group Soundgarden and vocalist Audioslave, but also as a philanthropist: he was engaged in charity, even founded the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which helps children in difficult life situations.
