'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Lisa Vanderpump reveals she doesn't own a credit card

Lisa Vanderpump may be one of the richest women on Bravo, but she still pays for things the old-fashioned way.

“You’re not gonna believe it, I don’t even have a credit card,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 58, told InStyle. “I have a debit card, and it comes out of my account.”

Her reasoning seems to be more about convenience than anything else. “Because if I had a credit card, I would never pay the bills. I just wouldn’t remember,” she explained. “Pandora says, ‘With the amount of money you spend, you should have a credit card so you can get points.’ But I like to know where I stand.”

Using a debit card has clearly never slowed down Vanderpump’s spending, though: She’s famous for carrying Hermès Birkin bags, wearing an enormous diamond watch and keeping her designer clothes in an absurdly large closet.

There is one outfit, however, on which she regrets spending money. “I bought a ridiculous ball gown from Valentino, and it was a fortune. You could buy a nice car for this dress. It was a black, lace wedding dress,” she said. “I thought I’d be wearing it and wearing it and wearing it — and I’ve worn it twice. So I think I’ve paid basically $10,000 every time I’ve worn it.”

Though LVP may regret one or two purchases, she makes sure her husband Ken Vanderpump doesn’t see the bill — in fact, she keeps her money completely separate from his. “I have total autonomy over my own money,” she said. “That would drive me crazy. If Ken saw, he’d be saying, “What’s this? What’s that?'”

But as it turns out, Vanderpump isn’t the only big spender in her family. “Actually, I’m more conservative than he is,” the star said of her husband.
